Sotrastaurin

Description:
Sotrastaurin is a drug that inhibits protein kinase, which are enzymes that catalyze the transfer of phosphate groups in proteins. It blocks the IL-2 receptor and its associated signaling pathways, which leads to an inhibition of T cell proliferation. Sotrastaurin has also been shown to be effective against bowel disease in animal models. The drug may reduce the levels of α1-acid glycoprotein and inhibit the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It prevents oxidative injury by suppressing IL-2 receptor-associated protein tyrosine kinases. This drug also decreases α1-acid glycoprotein levels, which are elevated in people with bowel disease.
